I came across this website from NFIP and wanted to share it. This is a risk asssessment site that will tell you your risk of flooding.
I typed in my address and found out that I was at low to moderate risk. Based on that, and my own knowledge, I decided not to obtain flood insurance. However, whatever category you fall into, you should at least know your risk of flooding. This is one of the more useful sites I have seen related to assessing your risk for insurance purposes.
