Sen. Lott is a hypocrite

December 19, 2005 by Jonathan Stein

This is going to be short. For more details, go to Frank Pasternak’s blog, Wisconsin Personal Injury Lawyer Blog.

Here it is in Reader’s Digest version: Sen. Lott, R-Miss, is a big proponent of tort reform. He thinks there are too many lawsuits. He thinks people should be limited in how much they can recover in damages. However, now that his house is destroyed, he is going ahead and filing a lawsuit against his insurance company, State Farm. Maybe it is just me, but it seems odd that a man who thinks there are too many lawsuits filed his own lawsuit when there are already many class action cases and a case by the state against the insurance companies.

Of course, I also wonder how much money State Farm has donated to Sen. Lott, and how much they might be donating in the next year, when the Senator is up for re-election.
